Anita R. Wood is a veteran of innovation and asking the question ‘Why?’

Anita holds the coveted Innovation Engineering Black Belt from the international think tank, Eureka! Ranch. She mentored more than six different innovative projects, two with provisional patents.

She spent 25 years, thriving in both the computer and manufacturing industries. Anita’s positions in management allow her to discuss with various levels of leadership the process of risk-conscious innovation. After starting as a software engineer and quickly transitioning to a project manager, she moved from the industrial to the educational domain.

Currently, Anita is an Associate Professor within the Information Technology department at Pennsylvania College of Technology. Based in Florida, she is an educator, speaker, innovator, and mom.

Responsibilities: 

  • Develop learning stories from complicated concepts, including programmingdatabase design, software engineering, game and simulation design, and information assurance policy development

  • Lead student instruction, outcomes assessment, and student advisement with a diverse student population. 

  • Teach, evaluate and redesign Gaming and Simulation Programming, Programming, Information Assurance, Software Development and Information Management undergraduate curriculum.
